"There is no such thing as a bad memory. There are only a trained memory and an untrained memory."

"Memory is not something you have, it is something you do"

 

 

<4 T's>

- Technique : Specific tools/techniques to memorize/recall effectively

- Toughness : Train your grit to go through this process

- Theory : The scientific 'why' behind the process.

- TEAM : Together Everyone Achieves More

 

 

<F.A.S.T>

1. Forget

- Forget about what you know.

- Forget about distractions. You cannot multitask, and distractions cost you energy.

- Forget about your limitations.

2. Active

- "Learning, remembering is not a spectator sport." but an active activity.

3. State

- "All memory is state dependent"

- "Information + emotion = Long Term Memory"

4. Teach

- "When I teach something, I learn it twice"

- Explanation effect

 

<Habits and Routines for a limitless Memroy>

1. Before you go to sleep, for 2~3 minutes, review your day to enhance your episodic memory. Go through your activities throughout your day. Also, take 2~3 things you are greatful for. Gratitute is the memory of your heart.

2. Have a good enough sleep. Sleep solidates long-term memory. Just as rest repairs muscles, sleep repairs your memory and brain. 

3. Try to remember your dream. (Specifics revealed in later sessions.)

4. Make your bed after you wake up. "How you do anything is how you do everything." Try to make your bed perfect as possible. This act of perfection will affect how you do anything else. 

5. After you make your bed, have a glass of water.

6. Then, exercise for 3 minutes. Exercising in the morning(7:00A.M. in a given study) helps having a deeper sleep.

7. Brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand. It helps your focus and helps you to stay present.

8. Take a cold shower in the morning :  It resets your nervous system, it reduces inflammation.

9. Think about what you will do today.

10. Besides the habits/routines mentioned above, for any other routine, always ask yourself is it helpful for your brain?
